Inside Sales Representative

Department: Operations

JOB PURPOSE

Inside Sales Representatives are responsible to quote and win contracts/orders and/or close deals in order to ensure company sales/growth goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY

  • In company with Outside Sales Representatives (OSR), Identifies revenue opportunities with customers through communications, programs and other activities as needed.
  • Prospects, qualifies and generates sales within the company’s established customers.
  • Generate Quotations and Sales Orders in support of OSRs.
  • Respond to Requests for Quotations (RFQ) and/or Request for Proposals (RFP) as required and follow up as necessary
  • Qualify and drive leads through the sales pipeline.
  • Identifies and closes additional purchases of products by customers.
  • Responds to requests from customers for information.
  • When applicable, delivers all technical documentation required of all contracts and agreements such as Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLS) and Supplier Data Requirements List (SDRLS)
  • Remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on changes and developments in the commercial and government valve and actuation industries.
  • Keeps management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of JA Moody’s services and pricing structure.
  • Supports OSRs to meet or exceed the new business sales goals.
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations and follow up with key decision makers.
  • Once available, utilize the company’s Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM) on a daily basis, scheduling and documenting activities, and developing prospective customer profiles.
  • Regularly communicate with VP of Sales as required.
  • Participate in sales calls as required.
  • Organize and strategize best quoting approach for each solicitation.
  • Respond to Requests for Quotations (RFQ) and/or Request for Proposals (RFP) as required and follow up as necessary

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Education

  • Required: 4 year post secondary education, or equivalent experience.

Licensure/Credentials

  • Required:  High School Diploma
  • Preferred:  Bachelor’s Degree

Experience

  • Required:  5 years of inside sales or sales support experience.  Knowledge of US Government contracting.  Proficiency in the use of computers for data storage, word processing, spreadsheets, the use of E-mail, and the ability to access the Internet.
  • Preferred:  Maritime or US Navy industry experience.

Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Required:
    • Knowledge of client groups and/or issues related to the maritime valve industry.
    •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be organized with good time management skills.
    • Possess proven analytical/problem solving solutions for the customer and the company.
    •  Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
  • Preferred:
    • Knowledge of Valves and Actuation devices and their operation on commercial and US Navy ships
