Nu-Torque® MS05 Series Actuators by Curtiss-Wright

This month, JA Moody is proud to highlight the Nu-Torque® actuator products manufactured by Curtiss-Wright in Farmingdale, NY. Specifically engineered for demanding marine environments, Nu-Torque® actuators are rugged, reliable, and field-proven for naval and maritime applications.

The MS05 Series is a compact, reduced-size actuator designed to meet the stringent requirements of MIL-SPEC DOD-V-24657(SH) and withstand the harsh conditions typical of shipboard operations.

Key Features

  • Marine-Grade Materials: Cast silicon bronze housings, paired with bronze and steel gears, shafts, and hardware, provide exceptional corrosion resistance—an essential feature for marine environments.
  • Low Magnetic Signature: Ideal for applications requiring low-magnetic components.
  • Durability and Compliance: Built to IEEE-45 and MIL-M-17060 standards to ensure extended life under severe operational stress.
  • Navy-Ready: The MS05 is the most compact and durable actuator in its class, ideal for small valve applications where Navy High Shock & Vibration (S&V) qualification is required.

JA Moody proudly offers many qualified shock and vibration assemblies utilizing this actuator, including configurations with the Navy K-Lok (LNV) valve, now manufactured by Lexair Inc. and Multi-Turn Valve configurations manufactured by Milwaukee Valve.

Key Features

  • Quarter-Turn
  • Multi-Turn
