Defend Flood™ 2 HI Series

Series Overview

The Phoenix Defend Flood™ 2 Series represents a second generation of explosion-proof LED floodlights designed for the world’s harshest environments. The series is split into two specification tiers based on output requirements:

LO Series: Delivers 5,600 lumens (40W) up to 8,400 lumens (60W).

HI Series: Delivers 14,000 lumens (100W) up to 28,000 lumens (200W).

Explosion-Proof Ratings for Tanker Operations

For vessels like LNG carriers, petroleum tankers, and chemical tankers, lighting must safely operate in volatile environments where explosive gases or vapors may be present—a constant reality during CLF oiler CONSOL operations. Explosion-proof Location Compliances: Both the LO and HI series are certified to UL 844 for Explosion-proof Locations.

Class/Division Ratings: They meet strict Class I, Division 1 (Groups C, D) and Class I, Division 2 (Groups A, B, C, D) requirements. This makes them suitable for direct installation in areas where ignitable concentrations of flammable gases or vapors can exist under normal or abnormal operating conditions.

They also carry ratings for Class II (Div 1 and 2) and Class III environments.

Application to Specific Vessel Areas

These fixtures are highly versatile for comprehensive maritime illumination:

Deck & Cargo Hold Lighting: The HI Series is ideal for high-mounting heights over large cargo decks or deep cargo holds, providing up to 28,000 lumens.

Waterline Security & Hull Perimeter: The LO Series is well-suited for perimeter mounting, utilizing either the standard 60° flood optic or the 120° wide flood optic to cast a broad net of light down the hull.

Mounting Versatility: Both series come standard with a 316 stainless steel mounting bracket and support ceiling, wall, or pendant mounting.
