Helping customers meet mission-critical challenges with innovative, customer-driven solutions.
A key Naval shipyard faced urgent challenges with a Globe Auto Shut-off Valve (ASV) critical to shipboard safety. Long lead times and escalating costs threatened program schedules. This valve type was not part of JA Moody’s existing portfolio, requiring an innovative and fast-track solution.

The end customer was the U.S. Navy, supported by a major Naval shipyard responsible for delivering vessels on schedule and ensuring compliance with stringent safety and performance standards.
When contacted, JA Moody quickly engaged INFLO Technique Inc. to assess the feasibility of designing and manufacturing a shock-approved Globe ASV. Before proceeding, JA Moody conducted a full audit of INFLO’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities, confirming their ability to meet Navy specifications and tight timelines.
INFLO committed to design, manufacture, and deliver the new ASV in less than one year. The valve, built for air and nitrogen service up to 3,000 psi, was developed entirely in-house and designed to meet ASTM F1793 requirements. By adopting a simulation-first engineering approach, INFLO was able to model spring and flow set points accurately, ensuring shock and vibration hardening along with precise shut-off performance.
The project relied on strong cross-functional collaboration and communication between the shipyard, JA Moody, INFLO, and Navy stakeholders. Key steps included:
In under twelve months, INFLO successfully designed, manufactured, and delivered a shock-approved Globe ASV on time and on budget. The project demonstrated:
JA Moody continues to serve as a dependable partner and value-added resource for Naval shipyards, helping them meet mission-critical challenges with innovative, customer-driven solutions.
